Canada Tourist Visa File For All Citizens 2022 (Document By Document)

If you are one of the people who are planning to travel to Canada in 2022, you should prepare from now, because a large number of requests on Canadian embassies and consulates is high, and this makes getting an appointment in order to submit your application at the time you want it is almost impossible.

In general, today in this article we will talk about the documents required in the Canadian visa application file for tourism.

Documents required in the application file for a Canadian tourist visa 2022:

The documents are divided into two parts:

  • The first section relates to general documents that are required of all persons, whatever they are and their status.
  • As for the second section, it is the documents that are required for each person in their neighborhood (retired employee, businessman…)

1- General documents for a Canadian tourist visa:




  1. A valid passport, valid for at least six months.
  2. Two recent photographs measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm (white background).
  3. Biometric data collection (a 10-fingerprint scan and a digital photograph) from 14 years old to 79 years old.
  4. A health insurance policy only for those over 75 years old.


2- Documents supporting the application:

  • The Temporary Resident Visa Application form must be completed in full – IMM Form 5257E.
  • Successfully fill out the form, and a new page with a barcode will appear. This page must be printed and attached to the application, otherwise, your application will not be considered.
  • Completed IMM Form 5257B for those who have performed military service.
  • Fill out the Family Data Form – IMM Form 5645.
  • Proof of financial ability to cover the cost of the trip and accommodation in Canada by submitting a bank statement covering the last year and showing the movement of the account.
  • Or the last two receipts to receive the salary or proof of pension or investments…
  • If you are not able to bear the cost of your trip or the expenses of your stay in Canada, you must clarify this and explain how your trip will be covered financially by providing documents explaining this.
  • Photocopies of birth certificates for children under 18 years old.
  • Clarify the purpose of the visit and provide proof of that.

♦ For employees:

A letter from the employer stating the date of appointment, the position, the monthly salary, the name of the direct manager, and the authorized period of the leave.

♦ For businessmen:

Commercial registration and tax card for self-employed persons, with the submission of the business’s bank account statement.

♦ For students:

For students, a university/school enrollment letter must be submitted.
If the applicant’s age is less than 18 years, the parents must attend in person at the embassy headquarters to sign and acknowledge the approval of his travel.
If the applicant is less than 18 years old and is traveling with only one of the parents, the other party must personally come to the embassy headquarters to sign a declaration of approval for his travel.




Time required to obtain a visa:

It takes one to two weeks to obtain a Canada tourist visa.

But before that one must do these things:

  1. conducting a personal interview.
  2. Pay the visa fee in the range of $70.
  3. Submit applications and documents supporting the application with a photocopy of them in English.
